Local Places to Visit

During our wedding “few days” you may find the opportunity to visit some local places. Throughout the last five years, we have visited come rain or shine, and want to share some of our favourite places and things to do!

Beaches:

• Saunton Sands – use Saunton Sands Hotel to direct you to the car park (else you’ll end up in the sand dunes).
• Instow Beach – great for a 30-minute beach stroll and pub stop.
• Putsborough – Good Surfing spot!
• Braunton Burrows – A beautiful but arduous walk! One of Milo’s favourites!

Pubs:

• The Instow Arms – Great spot for post walk drinks and light bites.
• Chichester Arms – Best Sunday roast!
• The Westleigh Inn – Cracking rack of ribs and veggie lasagne.

Restaurants:

• Block – Barnstaple. Fusion food, Local produce. Duncan reckons best burger he's ever eaten and amazing Vietnamese iced coffee!
• The Boat House - Instow – Gastro Pub, incredible top deck views, book in advance for the best seats!

Walks:

• Heddon Valley
• Mort Point Walk (park in Mort Hoe)
• Baggy Point (park in Croyde)

Things to do:

• Tarka Trail bike hire
• England's Best Charity Shops in Barnstaple!
• Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum
